Digital Technology

The Digital Technology department at Hutt Valley High School is focused on providing students with learning opportunities that will open doors to the increasing number of jobs available in the computing world. Students gain experience in image manipulation which is big in marketing, animation and video production, website design and coding, and programming for applications and games, which is a multi-million dollar industry. As well as the main Digital Technology pathway, at Year 12 and 13 we also offer Digital Technology for Employment, which focuses on key skills required across the curriculum and sought by many employers such as desktop publishing, presentation software, word processing, and spreadsheet manipulation.

Students who follow the Digital Technology pathway are set up for careers in software engineering, the film industry, advertising, and a host of other areas of employment.
