Materials Technology
In year 9 and 10 students are introduced to a variety of hard materials such as plastic and timber. Students will investigate, design and make projects.
In Year 11 students complete manufacturing projects and explore the following areas:

research and design

electronics
-
process and production technology
-
structures
-
mechanisms
-
basic workshop skills
Year 12 and 13 students work with real clients, research and construct a project, and focus is on technical construction as well as project management.
Furniture Making
This course is a trade related course. Students develop practical furniture making skills using hand and machine tools common to trade. credits go towards New Zealand Certificate in Furniture Making.
Mechanical Engineering
This is a workshop based course in which students undertake a number of practical projects while developing metalworking skills and processes.
