HVHS 100th Celebrations in 2026
The milestone we’ve all been waiting for is fast approaching. We are thrilled to report that planning for our 100th Celebrations is well underway. The energy behind the scenes is growing, and we can’t wait to welcome generations of learners back to the Hutt to celebrate a century of history, achievement, and friendship.
We have planned a vibrant programme for the Friday 7 August and Saturday 8 August 2026 of the celebrations, designed to help you reconnect with the school and each other. For all the latest information visit our dedicated 100th page by clicking here
Our School’s History
HVHS’ Archivist, volunteer Judith Gardiner, works hard preserving items of interest from our school’s history, helping alumni and the wider community with research requests and documenting areas of interest in our school’s history.
Donations of memorabilia, photographs as well as accounts of school life in times gone by are gratefully received. If you’d like to volunteer in this area to help with this work please get in touch.

PPFA Winding Up: Final Scholarships & 2025 Recipients
Last year, the Past Pupils and Friends Association (PPFA) made the decision to wind up. As part of its final work, the PPFA will award its last scholarships in 2026 to four Year 13 students, with all remaining funds gifted back to HVHS to support centenary celebrations and school activities.
Pictured below are the 2025 PPFA Scholarship recipients, Zach Devery (left) and Vanessa Wu (right), recognised for their significant contributions to school life.

HVHS Yearbooks – Access and Requests
We hold digitally scanned copies of Hutt Valley High School Yearbooks from 1926 to 2025. These are available for alumni to read, enjoy, and use for genuine research or reunion‑related purposes.
To request a digital copy, please email alumni@hvhs.school.nz with the following details:
- Your first and last names
- The years you attended Hutt Valley High School
- The reason for your request (e.g., research, planning an alumni catch‑up)
Please note that due to the high volume of enquiries, requests without this information may not be processed.
A special thank you to Hutt City Te Awa Kairangi’s Heritage Collections, who generously scanned and supplied several of the earlier editions of our Yearbooks.
