2024 International Fees

Hutt Valley High School welcomes international students at all high school year levels from all countries. We can accept students at any time of the year. Short term programmes are available on request.

Our international students can stay for one term, focusing on travel and experiencing a new culture or for three or four years to achieve New Zealand academic qualifications to apply to New Zealand universities.

2024 Start Dates

Our school year has four terms of approximately 10 weeks each. Students are able to begin school at any time however starting in February allows students to access all of the subjects, sports and clubs we have available.

Information on the Term 1, Term 2, Term 3 and Term 4 start and end dates of the school year for international students in 2024.

Term 1 – Thursday 1February to Friday 12 April 2024
Term 2 – Monday 29 April to Friday 5 July 2024
Term 3 – Monday 22 July to Friday 27 September 2024
Term 4 – Monday 14 October to approximately 13 December 2024

Term 4 Programme for International Students

Hutt Valley High School runs a 4-week activities programme for all non-NCEA international students throughout November. The programme is a combination of outdoor education, team projects, volunteer work, school based activities, overnight trips and personal development.

The first three weeks of term 4 consist of regular classes and then the 4-week programme commences after that. A full programme will be made available before the end of term 3. The cost of the programme is included in the tuition fees.
