Opening Hours
The Resource Centre is located upstairs in the Library area. To visit it, please go in via the School Office and follow the signs to the Library. The Resource Centre closes on Tuesday, 10 December, at 2:30 p.m. and reopens ahead of the 2025 school year, the opening hours are listed below.
Opening Hours for the Start of 2025
- Thursday, 23 January & Friday, 24 January – Uniform order pick-ups only from the Library from 9:30am to 3:30pm (no appointment bookings or drop-in visits available).
- Monday 27 January to Friday 31 January – Open for appointment bookings (for new students) and drop-ins from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
- Monday 3 February 2025 – Open for appointments (new students) and drop-ins from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
- Tuesday 4 February & Wednesday 5 February – Open for drop-in visits only from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
- Thursday 6 February – Closed for Te Rā o Waitangi | Waitangi Day (public holiday)
- Friday 7 February 2025 – Open for drop-in visits only from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
- Monday 10 February 2025 and onwards – Term 1 hours start with the Resource Centre open from Monday to Thursday from 9:00am to 2:30pm (during term time only).
How to Book an Appointment for a Uniform Fitting
To make a booking for a uniform fitting, log in to the SchoolPoint website and select the ‘Bookings’ button and follow the instructions. For any questions, please email the Resource Centre at resource.centre@hvhs.school.nz

Resource Centre Services
The Resource Centre offers a range of services, including:
- Sale of new school uniforms
- Payments of school fees, sports fees and donations
- Sale of Art, Technology, Design and Visual Communication (graphics) packs
- Sale of workbooks and homework books for all year levels
- Quotes for Work and Income (WINZ)
- Sports uniform hire for certain sports codes
- Purchase of tickets for school events e.g. Year 9 Disco.

Payment Methods Available at the Resource Centre
Payment can be made in person at the Resource Centre using cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. You can also pay via internet banking (as a one-off or automatic payment), over the phone with a debit or credit card, or through the Kamar Parent’s Portal

Donating Second-Hand Uniforms
The school welcomes donations of used or second-hand uniforms. Please drop them at the School Office which is open from 8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday during term time.
School Uniform Expectations
Hutt Valley High School is a uniform school. Every student is expected to wear the correct full school uniform. We have worked hard to give our students agency and choice whilst remaining a uniform-wearing school. Our uniform is inclusive, there are no defined boys’ or girls’ items, and students may wear any combination of our approved uniform items.
Approved uniform items are available from the Resource Centre, which is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00am to 2:30pm (during term time only). We expect students to wear the approved uniform items well. They should look good, feel good, and be a visible part of our school community.
Parents and caregivers are asked to ensure that uniforms and footwear are in good order at the start of each term and that students leave home each day in the correct uniform. Please speak with the year-level Deans if you require assistance.

Please note:
- A tie must be worn with a plain white shirt that doesn’t feature the school logo. A tie is optional if the shirt has the school logo on it.
- A white or black thermal top may be worn under any school shirt.
- Any brand* or style of plain black shoes (leather or synthetic) can be worn. They must have a black upper, black sole, and a back.
- Plain black, flat leather sandals are acceptable.
- Ankle boots are not permitted.
- Crosses, bone and pounamu taonga are welcome.
- Discreet make-up and jewellery are acceptable.
*We are aware that there are sports shoes on the market sold as school shoes. The Ascent shoe brand or similar are acceptable as they are plain black with no other markings or colours visible.
