Sport at Hutt Valley High School

Sport at Hutt Valley High School (HVHS) provides an inclusive environment for all participants. We aim to ensure it is a fun, challenging and enjoyable experience while creating lasting school memories. HVHS offers an extensive range of sports for all ability levels, and we encourage students to sign up.

The Sports Office manages the provision of all major codes and whole school sports events, school exchanges and representative tournaments. The Sports Office is located by the Main Gym.

2025 Sports Registrations

Sports registrations for 2025 will open in mid-December 2024. We’ll let families know registrations are open via the school newsletter and on the school’s Facebook and Instagram pages. For information on the sports offered at HVHS, click on the tab below.

The following sports may be available in 2025 depending on student interest, and staff and/or parent support and availability of coaching: rock climbing, rowing, sailing, skateboarding and snow sports. If a student is interested in any other sport, please let the Sports Office know.

Celebrating Students’ Sporting Successes

Please contact the Sports Office with information on our students’ sporting successes by emailing sport@hvhs.school.nz with any information and results. Photos are also appreciated and will be shared on HVHS Sports pages on Facebook and Instagram.

Coaching, Managing and Volunteering

With over 900 students regularly playing sport at HVHS, we always need more help to run this large sports programme. We need coaches, managers, scorers, drivers willing to provide transport either on a regular basis or for occasional trips, members of the various Sports Committees and volunteers for fundraising.
